Title
Top Posting / "Bottom Quoting" in Comment Notification Emails

Short, concise description of the idea
I would like an option to have the new comment appear first in the email, before the text of the original entry

Full description of the idea
The reason I'd like to have the option for the comment to appear at the top of the email is that I sometimes (and I am sure many other users) check my email on a slow, crappy cellphone interface. To have to scroll through the entire LJ entry, one page at a time over a slow internet connection, to get to the comment at the bottom of the email is quite tedious.

If this option is possible, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Save mobile phone users money on data transfer costs
  • Save mobile phone users time to read messages one page at a time if the content of interest were the first thing in the email

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • With any change, some people don't like new things. I suggest that this be made an option with a check box, so people can choose their preference.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • There could be a check box in the User Information section. If the "Top Posting in Comment Notification Emails" box is checked, then the function that handles sending out the emails will compose the emails as [New Comment], [Original Entry]. rather than the reversed version which is in place now. I don't think it should be too difficult to implement.
