Title
Disable the repost button on locked entries

Short, concise description of the idea
Entries containing the repost button should only display the button if they are public, otherwise the button should not display.

Full description of the idea
If an entry is posted friends (or members) only, or if a public entry is later locked to friends only, the code that displays the repost button should be disabled. If the author had meant for the text of the entry to be widely disseminated he should have made it a public entry to begin with.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Less chance of accidental sharing of sensitive information.
  • More consistent with other publicity tools such as Share This! or the Facebook/Twitter crossposting.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Users might wonder why the repost code wasn't working, especially if they're drafting an entry privately before sharing it publicly.
  • This is asking the HTML cleaner to look at an entry's properties before rendering it, so it may slow down page loads.
