Title
Adding more OpenID URL's to existing account

Short, concise description of the idea
Ability to add or change existing OpenID URL linked to an account.

Full description of the idea
Many sites offer OpenID as an alternative authentication mechanism, allowing to link any OpenID URL that you can authenticate, to your account. This would be useful for LiveJournal as well, because even limited "external" accounts are now more than just a way to post comment in a journal with disabled anonymous comments. These accounts are added as friends, has friends, and in most cases, act like normal LiveJournal accounts, just without own journals. The only problem is that these accounts cannot change the URL that will authenticate them. Regular LiveJournal can change e-mail and password, but external accounts are linked permanently to OpenID URL that was used to create them. What will happen if someone looses control over his OpenID URL? He looses his LiveJournal external account with all friends and stuff. This is something I wouldn't like to happen to my account.
An ordered list of benefits
  • All external account (or even regular accounts) users will be able to choose an OpenID URL that will authenticate them and serve as a link to their external blog. Useful, if someone decided to change blogging service but wants to keep all his LiveJournal friends.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • I do not see any problems or issues.
