What lies beyond death has long been one of the mysteries of the ages, such a mystery that I've devoted little time to considering what my own beliefs on the subject were. Or are? It's hard to say, given these circumstances. It never seemed a matter worth considering, given the only way to find proof of the answer

No, not for certain. I see what it appears to be, but that is not exactly where. Do you?

No, sir, this is my first day here. It looks to be a mansion in the middle of nowhere.

That is how it appears to me, as well. A mansion I have no memory of arriving at, of an illogical size and layout.

After inspection of the grounds, I have discovered that the mansion is surrounded by a forest and a beach. We could be on a deserted island previously inhabited.

Perhaps, but how did we come here? Do you recall your arrival?

No, sir. I must have been attacked and knocked unconscious.

Attacked... I suppose that is true of me as well. Have you enemies that would attack you?

It is not necessary to call me sir. Ryuuzaki will do nicely.

Not that I know of. The enemies of the past have, as can be assumed, have already been dealt with.
