movies seen: "charlie and the chocolate factory," with the lovely johnny depp as a perfectly oddball willy wonka. it was as good as the original, but in a different and unique way. although i liked the old-school oompa loompas' songs better. plus, at emagine theater, to celebrate the movie's opening day, they had this chocolate fountain and lots of candy/marshmellows/cream puffs/etc to stick in it! JOY!
no cds this week, still on my large purchase from last week.
books finished: a few assorted stories by kate chopin, who wrote "the awakening," all sort of early feminist stuff, interesting but nothing mind-blowing.
"harry potter and the half blood prince," by jk rowling (who is definitely filthy stinking rich). another top notch hp book, with lots of drama (and some lovin!), there were many things that i didn't expect (i won't give anything away), and others that i sort of saw coming. again, can't wait until the 7th book comes out, but then that will be the end, and that is going to be very strange. and i love the borders midnight madness.
"the house of sand and fog," andre dubus III. this was very well written, had a sad ending, but was enjoyable reading. i couldn't put it down once i started it, it was quite tense. might have to see the movie now...hmm.
gosh, i guess that's about it for me here. oh, and on july 11th (7-11), i went to 5 different 7-11s to get the tiny free slurpees.
