well anywho, i've been kind of ill and non social for the past two weeks, but i did manage to get a few things accomplished (mainly nothing important).
books finished: "the power of one," bryce courtenay. this book is about apartheid in south africa, and i was first introduced to it in 7th grade english class, via the movie version. it had a huge impact on me, and the book was no different. it was an incredible and powerful story, wonderfully written. i recommend it to anyone who can read.
cds purchased: the self-titled paul butterfield blues band. not much to explain there; basically an awesome old blues band that i heard on nights with alice cooper. i love "born in chicago," "shake your money-maker," and "blues with a feeling." check em out if you get a chance.
movies seen: "the island," which i liked. very sleek, and the action scenes were quite good (though if i had a dollar for every time ewan mcgregor and scarlett johannson said "run!" then i could retire now haha). and steve buscemi had a bit role, and i just love that guy. he adds something unique to every movie he's in (and there are A LOT of those), and generally just cracks me up.
"mr. and mrs. smith," finally saw this, and it was good. brad and angelina belong together as they are both impossibly good looking. the movie was sexy and funny, and the last fight scene was pretty cool.
and i also watched "fatal attraction" on tv, and that's a classic suspense movie. plus glenn close is pretty wacko...."i WON'T be ignored, dan!" even though i knew what happened at the end, it was still very edge-of-the-seat.
looking for something to do this weekend folks. give me a call.
