okie dokie, an update

so overall, my 19th birthday was pretty sweet. it started out (on the 8th) at olive garden for katrina's birthday, where we stuffed ourselves and got kat a cake. then to kat's house for a brief interlude, and finally, on to canada, with kat, her bf, krystal, her friend john, and leigh! there were some delays, and once we got there, some bits of drama, but everything and everybody was okay as soon as we got to the bar. because nothing says "i love you" like alcohol haha. it was a really sweet bar with a live band, who were playing classic rock!!!!!!!! but we only had an hour to buy as many drinks as possible, so i had: a sex on the beach (good), two kamikazes (good), a rum and coke (loooooove), and an irish car bomb (not so good). then we headed to the casino and i won about $20 at the slot machines! woo beginners luck! then we made a tired trek home and it was my birthday.

part two of the birthday adventure took place at leigh's house, for her kegger (see multiple other ljs for pics). it was quite a lot of fun, and i was super happy to have nearly all of my favorite people gathered around me on my birthday. plus alicia and emily made me and kat a cake! there was some drama that night too, but i say, "shit happens" and i've already gotten over it. but leigh- i think i left some bday cards at your house in my tired and hasty departure sunday morning.

well! not a lot of sleep was had that weekend, so i rested up.

my bro got me "reservoir dogs" which i love and which i think is ironic because he will not be allowed to watch it for a long time.

i also got a best buy gift certificate, which i used last night and bought:
"the bends," radiohead (probably my favorite of theirs, not a bad song on the album).
"led zeppelin III," led zeppelin (can you go wrong? it's zep! i love "gallows pole," "bron-y-aur stomp," and "since i've been loving you," just as the tops).
"houses of the holy," led zeppelin (again, zep, one of their best. gotta love "the rain song," "over the hills and far away," "dancing days," and "no quarter.")
"who's next," the who (LOVE THE WHO, this is a GREAT AWESOME FANTASTIC album and i love every single song. some standouts: "baba o'reilly," "won't get fooled again," "behind blue eyes," "bargain," "the song is over," and i absolutely love "going mobile" and "pure and easy." wow, now that i've named almost all the songs haha).

for books finished, it's the "his dark materials" trilogy by phillip pullman, which includes "the golden compass," "the subtle knife," and "the amber spyglass." i love these books and i've already read them 3 times, but they just blow me away.

harry potter and charlie and the chocolate factory on friday! and then i don't know what to look forward to...hmmm.
