girard street parties WERE THE BEST!!!!!

i remember passing out on the couch on the front porch and waking up to some lady yelling into the 3rd floor of the apartment across the street from your house at six in the morning.

also: the first place i ever had VEGETARIAN JELLO SHOOTERS

also: the jukebox!

also: square painting weezer jam!

sweet jesus, wasn't that a domestic dispute? you were one of 3 people to sleep a night on that couch. the others were Emperor X himself, and a homeless guy from the neighborhood who the cops had to scare away one night.

those jello shots made you puke on a tree if i remember correctly.

the juke is gone...to a better place, with a young man who can rewire and take care of it!

and, finally:

i'd love to! i've gotta warn you, though, i've become a very confident karaoke singer, so i hope you don't mind a bit of arrogance! if new Philly resident workcubed is there, though, i bet he'll do his best to show me up. he does a mean "Under the Sea."

i am what they call in the business, a "ringer". i appear to be a newbie, fretting over songs and picking something out there, but little do people know that i keep a list of songs in my wallet at all times. im a pro.

when you're back, we'll do sunday night at the locust bar.

At this very second I'm temping in an empty investment bank and I'm totally having the most casual coffee ever. Soon I'm going to put some glitchy electronic pop on the reception area stereo and have an impromptu dance party. No, really.

Can you give me some examples of glitchy electronic pop bands?

Molly, hi! Yeah, lately I've been listening to YACHT, guther, khonnor, and most of all (even though they are more of a rock band) broadcast. And what are you playing on the bank's reception stereo now?

Ooh, I just got the new broadcast from my roommate, who's obsessed with it. I haven't even heard of those other bands. But I started working part-time at a bakery and I need poppy kind of trebbley music that can be heard over mixer and espresso machine noise.

I'm a liar. I'm not playing anything. I'm supposed to keep it neat and clean and quiet because Colin Powell is coming in a few hours. (?!)

It's rained all day here, and there are two bands that I listen to on rainy days. Broadcast is one, and the Clientele is the other, and they both just released incredible new records. Autumn music is so good this year!

When I was a lowly intern at the State Department, I once saw Colin walking around the halls, before he was Secretary of State. Dude had an entourage!
