I've been thinking
and drinking,so maybe this wont be the most coherent thing ever,but here she goes.
I live in god damned America!The United States of America, and here we are.We the people are still complaining about fucking health care.Do you people realize how god damned stupid that is? We are the ONLY industrialized First World Country to not have a universal health care policy. The British instituted universal health care after world war 2. This is a nation that was under considerable strain after the war,many of their cities in ruins for fucks sake!Missiles and bombers had blown many of their cities into ruins and destroyed their infrastructure to a point we ourselves haven't seen since the end of the Civil War. They had to rebuild their entire damned nation and they decided that even though they were in the roughest times they had seen since the Romans had taken over, they would give their people universal health care.Think on that!Even the french have it,a nation that lost and had to rebuild absolutely everything after the war.Yet here we are, in the 21st century Americans are too goddamned self indulgent and plain selfish to accept that yes we as a people have to WORK TOGETHER to get our shit done.We do need to work together and accept that people really do need help from one another.We need to accept that people do need to work together as a society to keep going and do whats best for one another.We cannot sit around and continue to think that we are completely independent,because quite frankly we aren't.Humanity doesn't survive as single entities but as a whole unit that works together for the betterment of the whole.
If we're going to look at this honestly we will see that no nation has survived with the idea of the individual doing everything on his own.America rose through people cooperating with one another and deciding,as a society, that this was how things would work.It does not mean that everything we've done was perfect.Anybody who has gone through a history class knows that.However, in America we have formed this myth that the individual is the only one who knows whats best and that is totally ridiculous.We as individuals fuck up far more often than as a society.You may notice that our society has only really progressed when everybody has come together and actually exchanged ideas and said "We need to get something fixed and we need to do whats best for the whole." The whole fallacy of the individual being always right has been disproved by history.This is not to say that individuals do not have the capacity to do whats right,but rather that they are the exception not the rule.People in general will do whats best for them and not for others.We are a selfish lot, all of humanity not just Americans.
As we progress we have to look back and accept the realities, that without one another our species will not make it. We have to look and say to ourselves "Alright, as people we can be self sufficient but as a group we are unstoppable.Only as a group can we reach our full potential"
So why have we failed as a society to accept our responsibility to one another for health care?What is so wrong with our society that we consistently place the blame on those who are sick and without care than we will the people who run companies who refuse to give health care because its "too expensive!" What bullshit!These are people who understand that the long term costs are far cheaper to provide health insurance than it is to deal with the risks. If we wish to continue as a superpower and leader of the world, we need to accept that even though everyone isn't necessarily as great as we'd hope we still need to work together and help one another to continue as a species and a society that will help us move on into the future.
WE ARE NOT FUCKED!We can work together and become better people.Our evolution as humans is directly connected to how we treat each other now.If we can do something as simple as providing universal health care and improve everybody's life imagine what else we would be capable of if we would get over these pathetic individualistic ideas and work together.We broke the human dna code, we created the internet, we are the goddamned smartest society that has ever existed and we will one day become the next step in evolution,we will be the people that the world MUST look to for the future of humanity.
