When Series Return

Feb 11, 2008 08:16

Here are a few selections from San Jose Mercury News columnist Charlie McCollum's list of expected post-strike series returns. If everything works out, it may look something like this, and I quote:

  • Heroes: No saving the world until the fall.
  • Pushing Daisies: Will return in September.
  • Moonlight: Won't return this season but may be back in September.
  • NCIS: Will probably air only three or four new episodes in May
  • Bones: Has only four new episodes left and may not film anymore this season.
  • Without A Trace: Back in April with four to seven new episodes.
  • House: Four to six new episodes starting in mid-April.
  • Supernatural: Two new episodes already available and will film three or four more.
  • Lost: Has six episodes left but the last eight episodes of this season will almost certainly not air until the fall.
  • The Big Bang Theory: Back in March. Number of episodes still to be determined.
  • Ugly Betty: Four or five new episodes in April and May.
  • Smallville: Still has four episodes in the can and plans to make four or five more.
  • Men In Trees: Will return Feb. 27 with 11 new episodes but its long-term future isn't bright.
  • Journeyman: Gone.
  • Scrubs: Four episodes still unaired and was planning to produce four more in what is its final season. Status is now iffy.
  • Battlestar Galactica (New): Returns April 4 with the first 11 episodes of its final season. Second half will now almost certainly air in 2009.
  • Life: To be determined but if it returns, it won't be until the fall.
  • Chuck: Won't be back until September.

Except BloodTies and Stargate: Atlantis -- which I looked for but didn't see -- if I left off your current US television favorite, my apologies.  Let me know what it is?  Then click the link to Mr. McCollum's article; it's probably there.
Addendum 02/12: We have updates! Mr. McCollum says: "Numb3rs will have as many as eight new episodes in April and May" and "Lost has six episodes left. Plans now call for five additional episodes to air in April and May."
Addendum 02/13: More updates! Mr. McCollum says: "Among the more interesting ripples in the announcement: Moonlight -- which looked like it wouldn't be back until the fall -- will return with four new episodes on April 11..."
