One last hurrah- open wide...
Today I was un-braced and it feels strange to be sitting here running my tongue over my slippery teeth (my gums feel really weird too!). Nothing sharp or unnatural in my mouth for the first time in over a year; it won't last though, I have to pick up my retainer at 4pm, but till then I am orally free! The process of getting the braces off was a lot more uncomfortable than I was expecting (the worst I've ever experienced at the office), but it's done and just a bad memory now. I don't do the people who work there justice when I talk about them (always in a negative way), since they are all really nice and friendly (thanks guys). They gave me a coffee mug full of "banned" foods, such as hard candies and GUM!! After leaving the office I smiled like an idiot till my cheeks burned with fatigue.
Rachel once said that she was going to miss my old smile (well I think she said she was going to miss my vampire teeth) but I must say my smile now is quite dashing. My new smile is nice, because it still looks like me, and I still have my vamp teeth- they are just in different spots. Tonight I am going to try and drag the girls out with me to dinner, so I can smile like a fool some more in public. Who knows what mischief we will get ourselves into...
