Trying to beat the heat
I'm not saying that I enjoy the cold but this heat is something else. Work has been interesting as it is so hot in the bakery. I drink a lot of water and was slowing down a little so I didn't get dizzy. And I hung out in the walk in cooler and freezer, that helped a little.
It's also now that I appreciate every penny we spent on the basement. I made myself a little nest and it was a nice nights sleep down there and plan to again tonight. Seeing as the heat is continuing I might go buy a cheap lamp to make it easier for me.
It's mostly hard to cool the cats down. They just lie around the house looking very lethargic and they refuse to go into the basement for a little relief.
Happily, my yard is loving this weather. Things are getting very lush and green despite the heat. I'm sure in a few more days they'll start to suffer but for now things are good.
This is what Catie has been doing for the last few days. Not used to her being so calm!
