Well... this week was long. I was busy pretty much every second of every day... with school work or meetings or practice... it just wasn't fun at all. Thankfully not all weeks are like that. Monday I had homework and meetings and whatnot, Tuesday I had practice and had to watch a movie for Comm Theory class, Wednesday I had two meetings and a movie and an interview, Thursday I had practice and (finally fun) a Tasteful Treasures Party at Gwyn's, and Friday I was finally free and clear! A trip to the beach!!!!
Seriously though... I have not been doing anything really except school work or something boring like that. I have yet to really go out here in Charleston. And by 10 or so every night I'm worn out from the day. I need to start looking for that balance between "work and play" I guess.
The Tasteful Treasures party was fun. I only was there for the oils and creams part of the presentation though. There were a lot of really interesting, tasty, and enjoyable products that really intrigued me. Yeah, I wanted to buy some things... but why. It was nice seeing all the girls from Spain though at the party. Alison even came... I know what she was looking for!!! Oh... the most interesting toy I did see was a "hidden toy." It looks like a blush applicator, but you pull the top off (the part you use to put the blush on) and poof! you have yourself a easily concealed pocket vibrator. Is that cool, or what!?
My mom came into town this weekend too. We watched Sarah's soccer game on Friday night and then came back to the house to call it a night.
Yesterday I spent like 3 hours in the darkroom. I'm getting so frustrated. I have definitely not been producing the quality of prints that I'd like. I don't understand it. I use a gray card, I take my time, I always get feedback from Townsend or Michelle. But they just aren't good. It's not necessarily that the shot or the angle (the actual composition) of the photo is bad... I just can't get the print to come out how I'd like. It's just frustrating and EXPENSIVE.
But after that I went shopping with my mom and Sarah. Mostly for Sarah's room because it is SO bare. But then I had to meet my Western Civ group to film our presentation on Medea. Let's talk about this... I was cast as Medea (the lead... mostly due to my unparalleled acting ability and charisma)... however... even after filming I have yet to read the play. We had 2 hours to do this, or at least I had two hours, so I made them film my scenes first... which were basically all of them anyway except for like 2 but I just had to get out of there. It was fun... but I know I'm gonna be so embarrassed on Monday when they show the film to the other Western Civ students. I ran around in a freaking toga for 2 hours just acting like a complete fool. I better get an A for this. Heh.
Then I went out to dinner w/ my mom, Sarah, and Erika at Outback Steakhouse. Steakhouse. Pretty much the only thing I could get was the soup of the day and a salad. Who doesn't serve veggie burgers in this day in age, seriously? Haha. But I was FULL afterwards and we came home and "decorated" a bit. Oh... speaking of going out to Outback... I was super trendy last night. I felt a little skanky though. I wore a short denim skirt and some boots that came almost to my knee... they were like camel-colored and they didn't have heels... very comfy... but boots nonetheless... and one of those brown lacy tanktops. And big earrings. And this gold purse Sarah bought me. I love it!
Well... I have a meeting today and then am going to Sarah's game... hopefully she'll play today.
