I will miss him - his enthusiasm, his foresight and his insistence on creating products that anyone can use. I've been a mac user since the 1980s, and I wish I still had my first baby:

I don't usually make software recs; I usually get them from other people. But I did find a free extractor by UnRarX for RAR files that Mac users might like. I downloaded two RAR movie files, extracted them individually by dragging them onto the extractor screen, and the software combined the two files into one ( Read more... )

Who has a Kindle or Sony Reader? Do you like it? Are they worth the money? Just wondering - I can't afford one now, but I'm considering one for next year. We're running out of bookshelf room. I can borrow from the library, of course, but some books I'd like to have on hand for reference. All comments are welcome.

1. Stuff won't print from iMac all of a sudden. Found out that when I updated the OS, you have to update the printer. OK, went through the steps to do that only to get stuck. Called support.  I always wonder about this because some people are so computer literate they can create their own look for their livejournal page. I just use a standard LJ design, nothing wrong with it, but I do wish I could make it more me.
