I awoke in a Vulcan hospital. After the emergency surgery,
Mib Khan had had me brought in here, where I am apparently recovering as expected from both the sehlat attack and Khan's primitive standby instruments. I have been visited by my father, which I had not expected. In addition to other conversational topics, he informed me that my captain had contacted a ship in orbit around Vulcan, the USS Morituri Te Salutam, and asked them not to leave before the
USS Murgatroid arrived.
I later relayed this information to the last remaining Khan on Vulcan, and explained that
KY Jellico was, in most likelihood, planning to resign his commission, leave the Murgatroid, and depart on the Morituri. "I wonder if he knows what that name means," Khan asked. "Does he ever watch gladiator movies?" I responded that I was not sure; but I do know that he had spent some time in a Turkish prison.
