How does one get an allergic skin reaction right after taking a shower? I mean, really? Unless there's penicillin in the shower, which I doubt. Or grass. Both of which I'm allergic to. In retrospect, I think it might have been a clogged pore, too, which has happened to me before, but I hadn't worn eye makeup in a few days so... don't think so. Ah well.
Had my Philosophy oral presentation later so I put a hot compress on the eye in question and took two Novo-Hydroxyzin (apparently because my trusty-since-childhood Atarax is not available anymore, at least at my pharmacy) and oooooh let me tell you, the oral went smooooothly... mainly because I got drowsy halfway to school. Not so cool is the fact that I almost fell asleep about 45 minutes into the class discussion. Oopsie?
I'm still drowsy. Goodbye insomnia? Hoping so. I'm heading to bed pretty soon.
Tomorrow I have to work like a madwoman on a midterm project, and possibly study for Islamic Art because I have not done that yet and I'm still freaking out. Baroque Art I'm not so worried about, but it'd be good to go over the readings and notes again to make sure I remember everything I need to know about Bernini, Caravaggio, Monteverdi et al. That's sweet. Remembering Islamic dynasties and everything the prof put on the study sheet, though? ACK. Speaking of, I got my paper about the Hagia Sophia back this week. 4/5. Good. I was so worried there, since we haven't studied the Ottoman period yet, but hey no sweat, looks like :) I am still worried out of my wits about that class, though, ngl.
I re-watched a bit of Avatar yesterday. The first version I saw had foreign subtitles for when they spoke Na'vi, which made it difficult to understand completely (I mean, 80% of human communication is non-verbal but still, 20% got lost in the jumble), so it was good to understand it all finally. I may watch more tomorrow, but I will try to not procrastinate too much. God knows I love doing that. Oh, and as a bonus, here's a good little Avatar ficlet I found on ff.net the other day:
You Know Joy. About Jake's learning curves (and no, this is not a sexual pun) with Neytiri.
(Does anyone else feel like they fashioned Neytiri's name after Nefertiri? That's been a constant thought since I first saw the movie.)
