Monday Through Thursday Update

So, went to dinner/drinks with the weird guy that came into work. Just to be amused. He is a retired Army guy, who insists he still works covert ops for the military. Cops are the bad guys. Everyone is out to get him. But aside from the over-paranoid megalomania, he was interesting company. And hey, free alcohol and a steak! :p
Caught BART to Fremont, then JustNate picked me up and drove me.
Tuesday I did lots of laundry, and my dad's friend brought over the car I was getting from him so that I could see it and make sure it was okay. It's a nice car, early 80's Corolla, manual steering but automatic transmission. Needs some work, but not badly. Runs well.
*squeals* I have a car! :) Yay, car!
Then I headed up to see darkmoon. Made decent time, but wound up leaving late due to waiting for said car. So it was probably 8pmish when I showed up. We went down to the coffee shop she'd mentioned, but no one was there that she usually met up with. So we had coffee and chatted for a bit, then went back to her place and watched High Fidelity. She wanted to know where I wanted the relationship to go, and to be honest I don't think either of us were sure yet. But we agreed to take it a day at a time and see what happens. I know I like her... and I'd like to spend more time with her, as her busy schedule allows... I'd like to think she felt the same... Don't know.
Then we went to bed and snuggled for a bit, but she didn't feel well and kept getting up. Which led to her telling me she didn't think it'd work out. I believe the exact line was, "I really like you, but I don't think I could ever date you." Needless to say, I was a little thrown off-balance. She couldn't pin down exactly why she felt this way, other than gut instinct. We talked for a few minutes, and she managed to say she didn't know me very well, and we'd have to get to know each other better before we could see what would happen from there.
That's fair enough, after all we did rather rush into things, I suppose. Still hurt like a bitch to have to hear it, though. Hurt more than it really had any right to, which makes me think I have probably let myself get too attached to her to begin with... ~_~ Gotta work on that...
She went outside for some air, and I called JustNate up since I didn't know many other people who'd've been up at that hour with a shoulder to cry on. Darkmoon still looked a bit uncomfortable, so I volunteered to head home. The shock of the conversation was going to keep me awake for a while anyway, and I was having a minor bout with insomnia that night. So I left, texted auzrias and ein_reincarnate back and forth for a few minutes, then ein_reincarnate called and kept me awake and distracted me from doing something stupid like driving off the road or plowing into other motorists. Got consolation cuddles from JustNate.
Spent the better part of Wednesday being a bit mopey. Txted darkmoon for a little bit. Then met up with stoic_rose, snowvim, auzrias, karmaspice, and Parnasus with child (whom I'd met once before, her not the kid LOL) for dinner at Frankie, Johnny, & Louigi's Too. It was tasty. Auzrias and I couldn't decide what we wanted, so we settled on two things and split them. I think the best line of the evening would have to be from Snowvim- "*makes fisting gesture* Surprise!!" Of course, this is extremely funny in context, and maybe not so much if you didn't know the conversation just prior to it... LOL As most of the conversation from the evening really boiled down to just that- It's all about context! ROTFL Then auzrias and I retired to stoic_rose and snowvim's place to sit around and drink. It was nice, and cheered me up considerably. ;) We tried the new Captain Morgan's rum called Tattoo. It's a black rum. Tasty stuff, mixes well with both Coke and Root Beer, and would prolly mix rather well with Dr. Pepper, by our estimations. Also had Celtic Crossing, Hypnotique, Caramel Cask and Cream, Chocolate Cask and Cream, Tullamore Dew, Cappuchino Godiva liqueur, and some 10 yr old Scotch Whiskey. All in all, a nice night.
And today I'm at work. It's been a slow day. We're reorganizing some of the cases and making room for all the tac gear we've been getting in.
