So I got tested and tested and tested some more. Typing, math, Word, Excel, Windows, grammer, spelling, punctuation, customer service questions, OMG kill me know.
3 HOURS of testing. My brain hurts. Good news is that I passed all with flying colors. They were impressed and told me I didn't have to worry about my testing at all. I even out-did myself on the typing this time. For a refresher from last time - 73 wpm at 98% accuracy. This time - 80 wpm, 100% accuracy. My 10 key data entry was just as remarkable. I don't remember what those stats were.
They want me for that customer service position that pay $13.15 to start. Temp to hire. Possibility of pay increase after I'm a permanent employee. Also possibility to work from home after permanent employee. Good company that treats their people like family and has been around for many years.
But there's more. While they want me for that position, they cannot offer it to me yet. At some point, I will have to submit to a drug screen. No problem there. But before THAT even occurs, I have homework.
I have 4 questions that I have to answer over this weekend and return on Monday at 9:30. One of the questions is "Describe a time when you used fact finding skills" or something to that sort. They will be looking for essay format. Punctuation, grammer, spelling, sentence structure, everything counts. Not to mention the actual story. It has to wow them. Then they do a behavioral interview. If I pass that, I may or may not have another hoop to jump through for them before they can send me over to the client. I then have to interview with them and go through customer service testing again or some such nonsense. I guess that's why the position pays decent. They are looking for top notch people that are compashionate and knows what customer service means.
The client itself is a short term loan company. I would be answering phone calls from people applying for loans. I have to be able to retain people even if they don't meet requirements for those loans. I have to be understanding to them to want to come back to the company or something when they do meet requirements. I'm not exactly sure how it works. All I know is exceptional customer service is what I do best. I'm sure I can do this job.
Will be going back on Monday at 9:30 to turn in homework and do behavioral interview/anything else they need me to do. Oh, training for this job will start April 1. 4 weeks of training and I have to be available to work between 7 am and 8:30 pm Monday thru Saturday.
