As he stood in front of his mirror in trousers and tucked-in shirt, Roger did up his tie. Then undid it, then tied it again.

"That's a good definition, I guess: it feels good but scares you a lot," she repeated, smiling as she felt his fingers in her hair. He seemed to like touching her hair, which was quite nice since she liked having it touched ( ... )

Roger pretty much forgot about the book as he pivoted his body towards hers and put his free hand on her waist, fingers digging in just slightly when she kissed him back, her lips moving against his. He traced her jaw with his thumb as his other hand moved back to tangle in her curls as he kissed her. Pulling back briefly to let out a breath, he began to nibble on her bottom lip, flicking his tongue over it lightly and teasingly. Then he lowered his lips to trace the path his thumb had made along her jaw.

Hermione felt his hand on her face before his fingers moving into her hair. She heard an odd noise, something that sounded like a moan and a sigh, and flushed when she realized that she'd made it as he kissed her more intently. He pulled back and she looked at him as his breath blew against her wet lips.

When he nibbled her lip, she shifted and moved her other hand behind him, lightly stroking his back and shoulder as she parted her lips. "Roger," she breathed out softly, pulling his hair lightly as he kissed her jaw, uncertain what exactly she wanted to say or ask for.

"Hmmm?" he murmured as he found the spot just behind her jaw and under her ear. He kissed her there, and her skin felt like satin under his lips. Blowing over the spot with a small smile, he moved back to her lips, closing his eyes as he felt her hands, up and down over his back, tugging on his hair.

In his mind, he was still hearing that little sound she'd made before she'd whispered his name. He nudged her lips apart a bit further, rubbing against them with his own, and made a low sound as he flicked his tongue out to taste her.

When she felt his lips press against the skin beneath her ear, she sighed and kissed his jaw. She shifted on the sofa, turning more towards him. Her skin felt really warm and there were butterflies in her tummy, but she didn't pull back when he kissed her again. Instead, she parted her lips and closed her eyes, deciding to try to feel instead of think for even a brief moment.

She turned to him more fully and he moved his hand round her waist to her back, feeling her skin warming under his touch, even through the material of her dress. He moved his hand slowly up and down her spine.

Her lips fell open and Roger sighed into her mouth, his tongue finding hers and and sliding against it slowly. He tilted his head to take the kiss deeper and stroke his tongue against hers more deliberately. She tasted good; better even than he'd thought, and he groaned just a bit, trying to steady his breathing as his fingers moved restlessly in her hair.

The decision to feel and not think lasted until he moved his tongue against hers. Suddenly, all she could do was think. What was she supposed to? Did she move her tongue the same way? What if she hit his nose again? How was she supposed to move her tongue the same way if there wasn't enough room to do so? Was she supposed to not touch his tongue?

The sounds he made were really nice, a sigh and a groan that made her think maybe she was doing okay with the kissing, but she felt a wave of panic as she tried to remember the books and the techniques and it was making her not enjoy this lovely moment she wanted.

She pulled back and rubbed her nose against his, sighing as she closed her eyes and admitted softly, "I don't really know what I'm supposed to do. With the noses and tongues and teeth...I, uh, don't want to do it wrong."

She kissed him back, and seemed into it until she pulled back suddenly. It was, he thought, better than the last time, when it had had been because she'd been in pain. Now, she just seemed nervous. That he could handle. He kept the rhythm of his hand along her spine as their noses rubbed ( ... )

"Slow is good," she murmured, blushing as she realized she probably sounded about fifteen instead of twenty-five. She was pleased that this was going better than last time, and her side felt normal, which was an even greater relief ( ... )

She nipped at his thumb; Roger followed the motion with his eyes and swallowed audibly. The contrast of her shyness and curiosity with little hints of playfulness was unbelievably arousing. He doubted that she knew how much. He felt her hands in his hair and closed his eyes, remaining still as she brushed his lips with hers again, then again, before increasing her pressure. "Mm-hmmm," he murmured in encouragement, though the sound came out as more of a moan when he felt her tongue at the seam of his lips.

His mouth opened slightly, and he hung back momentarily, not wanting her to feel pressured to just shove her tongue in his mouth. Go slow. He tried to focus, to breathe, as he spoke. "Just... keep your eyes closed, and let your tongue sort of feel your way around my mouth. Just explore, like this." He demonstrated on her, eyes shut, tongue slowly moving along her top lip, then her bottom one, then inside her mouth to the flesh just inside. Slowly past her teeth to find her tongue and flick against it. He pulled back, his breathing ( ... )

Did it make her horribly depraved to find the notion of Roger giving her instructions in the middle of their kiss somewhat, uh, arousing? It wasn't like the hand or hair thing, or even really the glove thing, which mostly appeared randomly when she couldn't sleep and let her mind drift places it really oughtn't, but it made her feel odd in that strange but good way that had her skin feeling warm and her belly doing flip flops.

She also liked the sounds he made. He was normally rather calm and quiet, thoughtful and intuitive, so hearing him make such noises, knowing she'd helped cause them, was a rather powerful feeling. She liked seeing these glimpses of his passion, even if she felt guilty knowing he was holding his back because she wasn't ready and because she was seeing someone else, too. Before she could start worrying over that again, he moved his tongue into her mouth and touched hers.

"Okay," she whispered, keeping her eyes closed as she followed his example.

He let her move her tongue around inside his mouth, focusing on the feeling for a few moments before sighing and starting to move his tongue in time with hers, striking an easy rhythm. Letting his hands move from her face, to her neck, her back, up into her hair as they kissed, he kept his touches light and his caresses gentle. Roger knew that he should probably slow down even further; he didn't want to scare or confuse her any more than she was.

A few minutes later, he pulled back, but stayed only inches from her face and rested his brow against hers. "Better?" he asked softly, unable to resist touching his lips to hers again.

Oh, this was quite nice, she decided when he began to move his tongue against hers. His hands were touching her lightly, just areas that he knew she was comfortable with being touched, so she didn't feel a wave of anxiety that he'd try to touch her somewhere that wasn't comfortable yet. She trusted him, though, or she'd not be sitting here pressed close while they kissed.

When he pulled back, she smiled. "Yes, better," she murmured, kissing him lightly. "Thank you." She brushed his hair back and kissed the tip of his nose and his cheek.

She moved her hand over his, entwining her fingers with his. "I think I could eventually develop an appreciation for poetry," she said, glancing up at him and smiling. She bit her lip and considered it before she kissed his jaw and rested her head on his shoulder. "Read me another?"

"Good," he said. "And thank you, for tonight. Being here with me. Though, for future reference, you don't have to thank a bloke for a snog. You made me feel good, too, so." He shrugged and settled back with her against him.

"Ah, I knew you would," he said, looking down and smiling at her. "I think I'm going to be a bit smug about that, just so you know." He picked up the book, flipping through and settling on one before he picked up her hand again, lacing his fingers through hers. He laid a kiss on her head before he started to read to her again.
