It has been awhile.....
I know, I know... I don't update much. There is never a whole lot to tell though. Let's see....
Work is going well, though I decided to not put in for a promotion when one came up recently. I really should have, but with my dad facing everything he's going through, I just can't do it. I don't know if I'll be needed down in FL and I would feel so guilty if I got the position then had to go out of town for an extended time.
Dad is hanging in there, I'm so proud of him. He's started a new treatment. A week early in fact, but that can only be good. I want to go down there to see him, but I knoe I have to save leave until it is needed.
I've rediscovered my love for learning. I'm transcribing history lecture tapes for someone dear to me, and enjoying it so much! I started out doing this to help someone out, but it has awoken my love for the subject again too. The instructor is pretty good, though quite long winded at times. He gets off on these tangents, which does make it frustrating for note taking.
My Jessi is sick again, poor lil girl. I wish she were here. I'd bundle her up in my bed, with a pot of tea and lots of homemade chicken soup, and just pile on the DVDs and let her relax and recuperate. She told me tonight on the phone that she misses my spoiling her. I miss spoiling her.
Chris has had a rough time lately, not being appreciated by some that he cares about. My heart goes out to him, I know how that is. Giving for the sake of giving is good, but some respect is not too much to ask in return.
I don't get to talk to Alisha as much as I used to. I get so busy these days it seems we never have enough time to just "catch up".
I had a fantastic weekend. I devoted most of Saturday to HOL, and Quidditch. We did a lot of pre-game bludger work, and it sure helped! I love the house team. They work so well together and really do put the "team" in teamwork. They are also so good at not dwelling on small failures. They truly did put the fun back in HOL for me awhile back, just by their attitudes and friendliness. Sunday was my day, a day I spent with someone very special. I couldn't begin to go into that here, becuase I'd be writing until next week!
I have a new supervisor at work who is a real gem. She is so very likeable. What a refreshing change from my last one. I feel lucky to have her as mine.
