Popcorn revisited, and other such nonsense

Dec 29, 2008 06:10

I've been making microwave popcorn for twenty-some years. The other day I was at the store and decided to buy a bag of the old-timey kind. Kind of cool, that. Popping the old fashioned way; shaking the big pan on the cooktop. It definitely has a different taste than microwave, and it brought back memories.

I now have a Facebook... thingie. MySpace was too chaotic to even begin, but Facebook is easy. And fun.

Terry and the kids are on vacation this week. Not so, me. Ho hum. I'm hoping they'll go to Mississippi. I'd love a quiet house for a few days.

Sure is hard to type with two Yorkies in my lap. I think Roux needs Ritalin. Reggie agrees.

I've not yet gone to Bridgeport to see mother's headstone. I've seen pictures, though. I've only visited her gravesite once since she died. *sad* Just the thought of driving to my old hometown makes my heart squeeze and eyes fill with tears. Maybe more time has to go by.

I'm sure not happy at my credit union right now. We have all three vehicles financed through them. In an effort to reduce our monthly expenses, I increased the deductible on each vehicle to $1000. This brought down our car insurance almost $100 a month. Then I get a letter from the credit union telling me it is their requirement that the deductible be no more than $500. >:[ For crying out loud! Sure would be a great time to win Lotto!
