comfort in the weird places
There is a part of me that finds comfort in natural disasters (ie. Gustav). While it is tragic and scary and awful for the people that live there, it reassures me. It reminds me how small I am and my "problems" are in the grand scheme of the world. There is something so much more powerful than I am.
Of course, I hope everyone is safe and the heart-wrenching stories are kept to a minimum. It seems most places have better prepared themselves after Katrina. Physical things can be rebuilt. It's important to remember that.
