Took Cally in to the vet for 3rd of 4 weekly injections of Cartrophen, and decided on a future course of one shot per month pending continued signs of improvement. Didn't take Pumpkin in, but had a chat about
his hip and general Birmaniness.
I was assured (and this is why I like Dr Laura) that it was quite possible that Pumpkin had temporarily and painlessly dislocated his hip. I haven't detected any signs of Pumpkin pain and confessed my inability to interpret his behaviour for the last decade or so. Dr Laura diagnosed a case of happy dim floppy cat, who has never been quite structurally correct. Ignorance does appear to correlate with feline bliss. The mysterious moo-ing has been explained as Pumpkin responding to "signals from another planet". Srsly.
I imagine the tone of this conversation might have been different if I wasn't a regular at the vet surgery.
Pumpkin remains (and has never been otherwise) under observation, and if necessary I have an appointment in a week's time. Or I can bundle him into a box and take him any time in vet business hours. In the unlikely event of an emergency I know the location of the nearest 24 hour vet emergency hospital. Husband should be so lucky.
Princess has been having washing/scratching fits again. I think she panics herself a bit as she tends to speed up as she goes, but will stop if I hold her. I think she struggles to cope without constant human attention, and I've dared to leave the house this week for whole minutes at a time.
*headdesk*
I've got to get away from them. Help me.
