Merry Christmas to you all!
I know I was kind of absent from lj in the last few days, which had mainly to do with SeSa angst. I couldn't meet the deadline, so I got an extension, but only barely made that as well. I'm very irritated with myself, and I think my story sucks, but I'll let someone else be the judge of that.
On the positive side: When I got home on Friday, I had more holiday cards waiting for me. Thank you very much,
trumpeterofdoom,
turloughishere,
gwendolen and
nopseud!
Then I got Christmas presents from
saba1789 and
_bettina_, thank you, honeys! My parents wrapped them (i.e. the whole package, not the contents) again and put them under the tree. And yes, Bettina, I could reassamble it. :P
Not technically a Christmas present, but
killerweasel, it might please you to note that your magazines have arrived. After only 4 months and 3 weeks, judging by the stamp!
I also got a few other things, including the final season of Buffy on DVD. Now I'm complete. On to the next show (= Angel). My sister gave me Spongebob pillow, I'm very intrigued as to when I'll actually get to use it. First my sister used it herself to lie down on the couch for a few minutes, and right now my mom's got it under her head while she's reading.
I went skiing last weekend. Well, technically, I didn't ski myself, but that was okay, since I wasn't the only one. 14 out of the 18 people of the 7th and 8th semester of my course of studies went, and only 8 did ski or snowboard. I guess I'll post some pictures, from the 1.9 Gigabytes that seven people with digital cameras rounded up. Yes, I was one of them. It was much fun, I have no clue where the time went in those four days; it seemed as if we'd had to leave as soon as we got there. Anyway, I'll have time to post pictures, since
My parents decided that this year, they'd go to spend New Year's in Egypt, again, and that it would be fun to fly out on Christmas Day. Or actually, planes only go on certain days of the week. So in about two hours -- which will make it 3 am, over here -- I'll be driving them to the airport.
Christmas Eve was nice, though. It's the "main" holiday in Germany, the one where the presents are exchanged and you're going to church. So first we had delicous food, then we went to our own church (I'm catholic), that was packed as usually on Christmas. Also as usually, our pastor couldn't refrain from a comment about how he'd like to have so many people on ordinary Sundays, too, but we're already used to that. Then we went home and wrapped presents, a bad habit that started a few years ago, because apparently, nobody ever has time to do it before. The whole thing is silly, really, because then we put the wrapped presents under the tree, wait a few minutes outside of the living room until our dad has lit the candles, and go back in to open the presents. After that, our neighboor came over, we had a few cookies and then my sister and me went to the protestant church because her friend sang there.
And now I'll go comment on the SeSa story I got.
