Lelouch pointedly avoided looking at Schuldig, having mostly finished profiling the other by now. Schuldig was the sort who thrived on attention, like a child seeking acknowledgment. Who lived off of and relied on his charms to their fullest extent, which was formidable. Right now, Lelouch refused to be swayed by that magic smile, by those clear blue eyes and body language of someone who believed himself to own the world-- It occurred to Lelouch that he found Schuldig at least a little bit infuriating in his good looks and ruthlessness in utilizing them.

"Sit. We're going to have a chat," he ordered more than invited, standing from where he was seated on the bed before gesturing for Schuldig to seat himself.

If that didn’t sound like fucking Brad Crawford. Had he not been prepared for that, he would have sulked and downright pouted at Lelouch for both inappropriate use of the word ‘chat’ and paying him so little attention. These sorts always had to ruin the word chat, using it to describe things far less desirable than a chat. As it was, he did sulk his way over to the bed, keeping his grin to the best of his abilities and flopping in a mess of pretty languid limbs on their bed and stretching out.

“So what sort of chat are we having now?” Schuldig asked, trying his best to avoid the dread at actually knowing the answer. He had the general idea it wasn’t going to be anything nice. "No rusty butter knives, right?"

"You will sit up when we are having chats about serious matters," Lelouch instructed sternly, doing his positively best impression of Instructor Villetta as he crossed his arms over his chest and still refused to meet Schuldig's gaze, watching him only out of the corner of his eye.

"There are no rusty butter knives for the time being, but, honestly, Schuldig, I am at a complete loss for what to do with you," Lelouch muttered, pacing a little as he tried to think of how to get himself out of this particular stalemate. Sighing heavily, he finally spared Schuldig a glance before looking away again, lips drawn into a thin, serious line. "I do like you as a person, once all your grievously gaping character flaws are overlooked, and I appreciate everything you've done for me. However, having to defend you from lynch mobs is not my idea of a good morning."

Okay, a bit worse than Crawford. The pout was slowly starting to settle on his lips while he obeyed the instruction, gathering up his languid sprawl in favor of sitting neatly at the edge of the bed. Sir, yes, sir. He kept any internal eye rolling to himself, well aware if Lelouch wasn’t putting up with slouching, that would hardly be tolerated.

Honestly, it was all somewhat endearing in a strange, strange way. Lelouch was pacing around bitching and commanding - well, the commanding was hot. Regardless, the kid cared that he was in somewhat dangerous predicament, cared whether or not he fucked the entire institute. Yeah, there was definitely a certain charm to Lelouch’s worrying and Schuldig was managing a grin again. “Calm down, babe. It was one mistake, okay? It won’t happen again.” The only half hearted promise trailed off, and Schuldig lowered his voice, a bit awkwardly, adding, “But... thanks. For defending me, I mean.”

"Schuldig." Lelouch's voice was more resigned and perhaps slightly exasperated than angry or annoyed at this point and he stopped his pacing long enough to run a hand through his hair, then shook his head slowly. "I've barely known you for more than two days and yet somehow I find myself doubting that your 'one mistake' won't be repeating itself. Your otherwise charming personality has become a sorry punctuation mark for your libido. No, no. This problem must most certainly be dealt with, I only have to figure out how..." Trailing off then, Lelouch gave Schuldig a once-over and heaved another sigh, finally pacing over to sit down next to his roommate now that Schuldig seemed sufficiently scolded.

"You're my friend. An ally. Of course I'm going to defend you," Lelouch grumbled quietly, feeling guilty about being so harsh with Schuldig even though he knew it was entirely necessary. "I would simply much rather not have to."

“Well, if nothing else, at least it would be my one time mistake of sucking off a sleeping guy,” Schuldig offered as a dry, if humorous correction for himself, a small sarcastic chuckle following. It was... almost worth bragging about. He’d managed to have sexual relations with a guy completely sleep. How many people could say that? Goes to show just how charming he was. If there was a God in the world, He was undoubtedly laughing at Schuldig. Farfarello would have to hurt him more, Schuldig decided, while idly tugging on one of his red locks, twisting the end. Honestly, his libido wasn’t a problem. Just the people around him were a problem. Lelouch was acting honestly troubled, so Schuldig just shrugged a shoulder, agreeing to submit to the hell knows, “If you can think up something that doesn’t end in castration, have at it, sugar ( ... )

Lelouch's frown deepened slightly at that and he shook his head in vague irritation, swatting Schuldig's hand away. "I am neither a knight nor a prince, unfortunately. Just a schoolboy at his complete wit's end because of you. How am I supposed to not worry? I'll be the one mopping the blood off the walls after the lynch mob's had it's way with you. Now hush, I'm trying to think."

He spent the few moments that followed in silence, leaning his face against his hand as his mind exhausted all possible routes of action. Most of them led to Schuldig's castration. All except--

No.

Too many things had to go absolutely right for this scenario. Too many conditions to clear--

But.

Lelouch thought things through again. Nothing.

This was it. All he could come up with. And though a great number of conditions had to be cleared, there was at least a definite number. It was improbable to be able to pull it off, but not impossibleHe had no choice ( ... )

Schuldig couldn’t stop a grin at the swatting and scolding. Lelouch was too cute, really. He had obeyed, though, if only for a minute. Dully, he’d started playing with the end of a strand of his own hair. Apparently, Schuldig was mislead enough to believe that there was really no solution for his horrible perverse behavior. The murmur of his name drew up a little sparse attention, until Schuldig actually glanced over.

... wait a second.

Was Lelouch being fucking coy with him?

For just a schoolboy at his wit’s end, he very abruptly had won over all of Schuldig’s interest. Lelouch was definitely up to something, there was no doubt about that. Schuldig just wasn’t certain if he cared enough to pass up this chance. If this was how Lelouch was manipulative, Schuldig was all for it ( ... )

Nodding only slightly at Schuldig's words, Lelouch proceeded to phase two, adverting his gaze to his lap as he quietly wrung his hands as though agitated, his breath leaving his lips in a quiet, troubled puff. The blush that appeared on his cheeks at Schuldig's hand against his chin was not faked, but it served his purposes well enough all the same.

Idly, Lelouch pondered how much of this was really part of the game.

"I'm still thinking," he murmured as a way of answer, brow knitting delicately in worry before his gaze flickered over to meet Schuldig's for the briefest second before quickly darting away again.

"You... do like me then? Not as a friend, but... Ah, certainly-- Certainly I'm nothing special... Nevermind, Schuldig, let's talk of something else."

Blushing and glancing away like this. Lelouch was being amazingly bashful, but at the same time... he was being forward enough to bait Schuldig on. It was also enough to drive Schuldig crazy if it dragged on too long. He could only restrain himself from Lelouch a little on normal, when Lelouch wasn’t being such a tease.

“Ah-ah, no you don’t,” Schuldig interjected firmly. “No subject changing.” Because he knew where this was going and he was liking the general idea far too much. Maybe Lelouch was truly being honest. He did seem to be particularly inexperienced.

“Don’t keep putting yourself down like that. I don’t think you’d have all of these people chasing after you if you weren’t special.” Telepathy would have been amazing at the moment; he was so… hopeful that Lelouch was being honest. It was hard to tell when he got involved like this, it was hard to see through his own hopes and opinions. “And... I like in that ‘more-than-a-friend’ way.”

Hook, line, sinker.

The first condition had been cleared with a surprising lack of real effort on Lelouch's part, which was almost enough to make him feel guilty. Almost. However, this was for the good of them both so he forced away his guilt and didn't give it another thought.

"All these people...? Really, Schuldig. If anyone was interested in me at all, it'd... It'd be you and you alone," Lelouch went on to sigh, hugging himself as he spoke. He glanced briefly at Schuldig again, gaze lingering for a few moments longer this time. Then he bit down on his lip and dropped his gaze again.

"What I-- All I was going to say was... ah, perhaps if you had something else to focus yourself on, you would not get yourself into quite so much trouble...?"

Lelouch’s gaze may have been rising and dropping as his shyness came and went, but Schuldig’s gaze and attention was purely devoted to Lelouch. After all, every little action was pointing at what he was hoping for. He was certain that at least a portion of this was manipulation for... something, but he’d convinced himself part of it was honest.

If it was all completely fabricated, Schuldig would have to tip his head to Lelouch for this little performance. “I doubt that, maybe I’m just the most obvious.” Schuldig replied with a tiny sheepish grin. He was a bit forward. One hand touched at Lelouch’s arm, “Relax, babe.”

The theory presented was simple and effective, but Schuldig couldn’t help raising an eyebrow at it. “It could work. What exactly am I going to focus on here though?” Unless... Lelouch was offering himself. Which seemed likely. Was he too hopeful?

Fucking score.

"I promise you nothing, Schuldig, please understand that," Lelouch began softly, worrying at his lip between words. He heaved another heavy sigh and turned perhaps a fraction of a shade pinker. "But-- If you would be willing to put forth the effort to court me like a proper gentleman, then perhaps I could consider... would consider... allowing us to develop something. I-I'm sure I'm presuming too much that I'm even worth the effort, but I... If I were to attempt this for you, then... It would have to be... Show me that you truly want me, Schuldig. That I am not throwing myself away to your whims. Look at only me. Want only me. Follow only me. If... if you could do that, then I..."

... a very demanding possible score.

It was almost like a mission of sorts, if Lelouch hadn’t made the end so undeniably hot. It was asking a hell of a lot, things Schuldig was understandably uncertain if he could even provide. It wouldn’t be far off saying that Schuldig was a slut, not just that, that’d he’d never properly dated anyone in his life. There was a distinct challenge ringing in the words. Smirks and grins had been lost while he tried to wrap his mind around these orders and regulations, but he leaned a breathe closer to Lelouch, putting them face to face. He was sold to the idea. “As you wish, babe. I’ll do things your way.” One corner of his lips quirked, and he raised an eyebrow, “Consider me your new boyfriend.”

"Not yet, not until you've proved it," Lelouch insisted, reaching out to rest one of his hands over Schuldig's own without fully meeting his eyes now. There was a very delicate sort of balance to it, to giving just enough to keep Schuldig interested without giving so much away that the allure of the unknown was lost. For some reason then, Lelouch felt distinctly like a girl. "If you were to become my... my... boyfriend--" Lelouch choked a little on this word. "If... truly... then you'd be my first. I hear you never forget that person. Forgive me for not being eager to have my heart broken. And-- Rolo must never hear of this, promise? He wouldn't... I don't want to cause him undue distress. I'm not sure he will understand."

Lelouch was such a virgin, it was almost frustrating. If it hadn’t been so goddamn enticing at the same time. Not so much score, after all. Schuldig leaned away, though his gaze stayed on Lelouch, and his hand twisted around to hold onto Lelouch’s own hand. “Have some faith, babe. Your cute little heart will be in safe hands.” At least he was getting to steal the title of Lelouch’s first boyfriend - that would make up for a little of the work, in the end. “I’ll be sure to keep Rolo oblivious that anything ever happened.”
