Leather Dye Rubbing Off On Things

Hello all,

This is a similar question to stickykitty's. I have a leather messenger bag that I picked up from a street vendor in Turkey - it has that killer hand-tooled/distressed look, but the brown dye that they used to color the leather leaves traces on light colored clothing. Do any of you have a good recommendation for how to fix this?

I have no information on the type of dye used in the treating of the leather.
