So every once in a while I get my act together and take pictures of myself in my various outfits, and retouch, resize, all that.
Since there have been a few requests to see both more colorful steampunk and everyday steampunk, I offer you, well, a little of both.
First off, how can one get more "everyday" than eyeglasses? (No, these are not for decoration, those are real lenses and thick too.) I was lucky enough to spot these at the optometrist's office and had to have them because of the lovely temple-pieces that reminded me of nothing so much as Art Noveau (one of my favorite art-styles of ever).
Speaking of art styles, with my next outfit I was going for the Pre-Raphaelite/Aesthetic movement look here, inspired by
this painting, and
this one by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, as well as other paintings.
For my last offering, I give you a very everyday example of steampunk. A skirt I picked up for five dollars at a street fair (oh Eugene~) a Threadless shirt, and a vest plucked from the Goodwill bin years and years ago. (And goggles, but shush, that was for a friend.)
The skirt is dark pink or a very pink red with green piping and biiiig pockets, which every lady appreciates. I'm sorry I didn't get a better picture of the bottom of the skirt (alas). Don't I look ready to go off and explore all those 1000 Places to See Before I Die? ;)
If you got through all that....I salute you. Heh.
