Becker Day was always much appreciated at Downton School. Along with Founder’s Day and the Headmaster’s Birthday it meant a day off lessons with a special celebratory meal in the evening.
“Yay for Becker!” declared Cribbs, “If only all our old boys could manage such gloriously heroic deaths.”
“What’d he do?” asked Finn who was new this year. “It must’ve been something amazing if we’re still having a holiday more than a hundred years after he died.”
“Dunno,” shrugged Cribbs. “Does it matter?”
Finn lay back on the grass and let the June sun warm his face. “No. Not really.”
