That sound you hear is me exploding with delight
Apparently, I am to have many heroes this week. Today, I had to add chirachira to the list, but that wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Ven's mad linking prowess.
I remember a time, a dark time (and still, really, a time one toils in, but a bit less so) when I could count on my fingers fanart for DWJ books. The toiling and scrounging done by the mailing list to find the scanned cover for a mysterious doujinshi, in the distant days of ... 1999.
Sketches like these, though, so lively and distinctive and just fucking well done (one look at teenaged Christopher Chant and you kind of want to punch him in the face!). They are to the Chrestomanci books (also one Howl sketch that is so delightfully /not/ Miyazaki that I haven't the words) what Tealin's character sketches are to Discworld.
It only took you eight or nine years, internet, and I think it was worth the wait.
All signs are currently pointing toward my need to shamelessly indulge in a giant DWJ marathon, although I may wait until I've consumed the new Bujold, depending on when it wakes its way to me. May also wait until The House of Many Ways is out (next month? July? Amazon has gotten drunk since the last time I checked and doesn't seem to have it listed).
