Suddenly, all my awesome friends live on the west coast

Cathy, so many hugs to you. Do you have /any/ idea how long I've been trying to find a copy of Year of the Griffin?

... As Year of the Griffin was the first DWJ novel published after I discovered DWJ, a quick peek at the inside of the book tells me the answer is eight years.

Also, the box from Barnes and Noble is perfectly Ivan-sized, which makes him happy.

I realize I never did a birthday swag list. I'll do one now.

The above-mentioned Cathy gave me the above-mentioned Year of the Griffin, as well as the first volume of Ouran High School Host Club, which is great, as, for some reason, the stores in the city that sell me books with pictures in are opposed to things like keeping the first part of a series in stock.

Dice (also awesome) gave unto me the Booster Gold colouring book collection, complete with a cover featuring Booster's shiny gold butt, as is only proper.

Sarri hooked me up with a boxset of old Ealing Studio movies from the '30s, which is too awesome for words, as well as the soundtrack to the first season of Sam and Max games. It seriously has no right to be as wonderful to listen to as it is.

And Moo got me membership to the U.K. P. G. Wodehouse Society, which is both delightfully dorky /and/ nigh-useless (as it is a U.K. society, and therefore all the dorky Wodehouse shindigs are in, uh, the U.K. - this makes it even more amusing, for reasons that defy explanation). This also makes me a member of a society where the president is a man who once provided the voice of a mentally unstable animated bunny rabbit, which is just special.

You rock, team.
