Writing essays by moonlight, nabbing Es by daylight [/wishful thinking]
The media exam went, I feel, well. Despite the annoying question. The standard changed slightly from what we've been practising with so instead of the good old "describe, explain, and analyze..." style questions we were expecting, we got "write an essay describing this AND this AND ALSO explaining WHY this and this AND ALSO explaining the EFFECTS of this and this". I wish I could say I was kidding about the capsrock. So I got the media product (read: Campbell Live)/audience essay out of the way first, only vaguely describing AND explaining WHY AND ALSO explaining the EFFECTS, then had a stretch and and barged onto the representation essay, ie. my rant on how teenage maybe-lesbians get shafted in the media.
I so was not expecting to have to write about WHY the representation was used so made up some crap about it being used because it made a good story and fit the genre. X_X But I'm hoping I made up for it in the effects/alternative rep, in which I, as expected, went on for over a page on the joys of Sailor Moon. (Yes, I had to ask for extra paper.)
Hoping I walked away with at least Merits.
In other news, I got leadership (read: editorship) of Trouser for next year!! WGC magazines are going to be so damn incestuous next year, because my co-leader/editor/bla is Claire, who is co-bla of Vespa as well. X) Exciting.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love Golden Sun, but why on earth would a Mercury Adept - someone whose powers are based on water and ice - want to learn to evaporate water? The logic does not compute. Although I tend to use Parch to dry up the puddles left in Daila as a service to the town. Of course, they're there again once the town screen gets refreshed, but I feel good about it for about five seconds...
If I was sensible, I'd be studying right now, but no, I'm reading digiTomato slash. I've never seen Savers/Data Squad. This is ridiculous. I never got like this about Taito and I know Adventure, I never went reading Daiken or Daikeru (xD Dais goes first because I adore him) and I love Adventure 02, I...uh...can't stand Jenkato. :3 (Which is why I'm so mad that avoria_academy died. First time I got bunnied for and seriously considered writing Jenkato for anything and the stupid thing goes and dies. And I don't really want to write it as a fic because I can't figure out a way to justify the plot device in any 'verse.)
...okay, that and the fact that I ran out of stuff on digi_tomato to read just guilt tripped me into going to recite my poetry. I can do this.
