Your Guns and Your Roses Are Leaking, Sir
Earlier today I heard a (presumed) leaked track from Guns `n Roses forthcoming Chinese Democracy. The sound quality was really good so I'm thinking it is real deal (i.e. not a demo). The song is called "Better". The site that had it up has already taken it down. Google it and you'll probably find a new link somewhere.
My own review: I think it is pretty damn good. Maybe not a decade-in-the-waiting good but still pretty kick ass. Not Appetite For Destruction kick ass but, to be fair, newness cannot be replicated and the GNR of the here and now (or at least Axl) is a known quantity. "Better" has some modern production tricks at play but the vocals are vintage Axl, the guitar hooks are huge, and overall I'd put it on par with better material from the Use Your Illusion albums. If the rest of the new album is as good I think Axl and the new fangled version of GNR will sell. "Better", if nothing else, reminded me why I am a Guns `n Roses fan.
Chinese Democracy is tentatively set to be released March 20th. Of this year. Seriously.
