Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. Etc. Then write your reaction to each pairing (or a snippet of a hypothetical fic featuring each pairing).
My list is pretty short & sweet since most of my current icons are either pics of our cats or brightly-colored geometric figures. Still, the game works out to make a surprising amount of sense. Except for the fact that I'm just not into slash.
BTW, these *are* alphabetized. By the tags I gave the icons, not the character names. Trust me, it works better like this anyway.
#1: Lieutenant Sulu and Captain Kirk (classic Star Trek).
Talk about old school. You can't tell me George Takei hasn't gone there.
#2: Commander Spock (classic Star Trek) and The Tenth Doctor (new Doctor Who).
Hmmmmm. Even pining for his lost Rose, Ten still plays along with Captain Jack Harkness' flirting. But he and Spock love each other for their minds. No, really.
The Ninth Doctor (new Doctor Who) is stuck at the end of my list with no one to play with. Which is why he's so grumpy in the icon above.
Bonus feline sapiens weirdness: One of my icons for Ten includes one of the Brannigan kittens (from the new Doctor Who ep "Gridlock"), who hooks up with my icon of Si and Am (from Disney's Lady and the Tramp). Wrong on *so* many levels...
