PostCrossing fame/ More BBQ/ Shopping day

First of all, mad props to neslihan for alerting me to the fact that I'm kinda famous, sort of, in a small way! A PostCrossing user by the name of MichelleW was interviewed by the site. She's received 898 cards through PostCrossing, but when asked what her most memorable card was, she chose this one, sent to her by yours truly!

(Yes, my handwriting is awful. My handwriting in Japanese is even worse! :-D)

I feel kinda silly looking back on that card now. There are people in Fukushima that STILL don't have a permanent place to live, and there I was whining about blackouts and food shortages that ended up being very temporary. Of course, there was no way to know that things would go back to normal fairly quickly at the time. ^^;;

In other news, Sugimoto-sensei kindly posted a bunch of pictures from yesterday's barbecue to the dojo's blog, and I found myself in these two. Here we are chatting with our new buddy Dwayne (or was it perhaps Wayne? Couldn't quite hear him when he said his name.) His daughter takes karate, apparently. She and his wife were super nice, and they brought American snacks from the base to share!

Let's play WHERE'S RO-REN! I have no idea why I'm making that face... perhaps reacting to something RooG said?

So, today was a good day. We woke up early, Skyped with my folks, and cleaned the house. On the train to Yokohama the girls sitting across from us were rocking quite the pair look, which matching Toy Story keitai straps, and matching shoes.

Lunch was at Dessert Oukoku. Deeeeelish, but we ate too much and felt bad about it afterwards, of course. ;.;

I liked this window display with the talking pigeons.

Later we went to the Disney Store, to buy tickets for our upcoming trip to Tokyo Disneyland! We ended up having to wait inside the packed store for like 45 minutes to buy our tickets, which gave RooG time to find an alternate use for this plushie.

Also hit up Lupicia for CHRISTMAS TEA! Got Decaf Carol and White Christmas, plus some Imo Kuri Kabocha cos I'm running low. RooG got a new pair of boots at the Crocs store.
