We did indeed get the puppy from the girl at Wes' work. He is half shih tzu/half yorkie (though he looks more shih tzu/schnauzer to me) and is about 3 or 4 months old just like Sophie. Well, we saw some puppies listed with Operation Kindness (who some of you will recall we adopted Earl from - who now resides with Feral's parents) toward the middle of this week, but they were getting neutered that day, so we couldn't go see them. We're going to take Kaylee back to the shelter. We feel awful about it, but we just can't afford the treatment for her, plus things like housebreaking (which she needs) and other normal household behaviors are going to be hard to instill with the weirdness of the treatment. So... just heard from the vet. Kaylee has hookworms, whipworms, and heartworms. Treatment for the heartworms is going to run from 350-450 dollars depending on her weight at the time the treatment starts (she's on the border between two weights).
