We're going to take Kaylee back to the shelter. We feel awful about it, but we just can't afford the treatment for her, plus things like housebreaking (which she needs) and other normal household behaviors are going to be hard to instill with the weirdness of the treatment. It's just more than we can take on with our schedules. It sucks out loud, but that's how it is.
We're also actively seeking a home for DJ, so if you are interested in a black and white 16-year-old kitty that's a complete sweetheart, let us know. We got him caught up on his shots last night, and he's had flea and tick treatment too, so he's doing well despite the environment he's coming out of. I know he wouldn't be around for a long, long time, but he's still in good health now, and you aren't going to find a sweeter baby. He's been in Wes' life for longer than a lot of people have, so it's important to us that he finds a good home, but it can't be with us because my mom's deathly allergic to cats. DJ is ruling the garage at the moment.
In other news, I'm reading Helter Skelter, and I'd never realized how little I know about the Manson murders. It's disturbing (particularly the blatant police stupidity - yikes!), but very interesting. And now, back to work.
