So I am up all late again and started watching a rerun of the food network when Rachel Ray goes to Boston, and it just leaves me kinda annoyed as always. Everytime those food shows go to Boston they go to the lamest places. I mean this time she went to a couple of decent places, but missed alot. So I got to thinking what are my favorties? Not even just in the City but in the state. So here they are
1. Firefly's - Marlborough, The absolute best!
2. Jacob Wirth - Boston, a landmark that needs no description
3. New Olympia Restraunt- Lowell its on market ST, much better than the Athenian, it is in kind of the not so nice part of Lowell, but it used to be an old greek neighborhood, and it has the best greek food anywhere, gotta love the belly dancing too.
4. Espresso's- Lowell The absolute best pizza on the entire planet, ask anyone that has ever eaten there, there is NOTHING like it.
5. Joe Fish - North Andover best seafood restraunt
6. Hometown Seafoods- Andover yes its a fish market, but man those lunch combos are awesome
7. Bukowski's- Boston, the one behind the Prud. The one in Cambridge is lame! this is the place to go
8. Sunset Grill- Allston 100's of beers, decent food, all around good time
9. Harrisons Roast Beef- North Andover its a shame peopel still go to Kellys this place is so fucking good
10. Elliots HotDogs- Lowell, and Tweeksbury it is really good, especially the sweetpotato fries. yum yum
11. Union Oyster house- Boston- ya tourist trap I know, it is always full of out of towners, and is expensive, but the history and the food is good, the only part worth sitting in is the raw bar, or the bar for that matter, the rest is for bus loads of tourists that ask for retarded food.
12. Fire and Ice- Harvard Square Cambridge- make your own creations, mongolian grill, alligator anyone?
13. Ernestos- Boston's North End, skip those new fancy italian restraunts, they aren't original, they are for tourists. This pizza place is Almost as good as espressos, which is saying something. It is where the locals eat, it is hard to find but worth it. I have been to some of the more fancy newcomer places, but this place is where it is at, hands down.
14. The Tap- Haverhill good brewpub
15. Metropolitian Deli- Westford, the best deli sandwiches and premade thanksgiving dinners. Thats the best part about the place is for like $8 you can walk in and get a hot plate of real thanksgiving turkey, gravy, stuffing, squash, cranberry sauce...etc Just like real thanksgiving, not some artificial crap or tv dinner deli meat thing, this is real stuff.
So in my opinion in that order those are the best places, but if I was to expand this to new england, I would add
1.Martha's Exchange- Nashua Nh amazing beer and food
2.Redhook Brewery and pub- Portsmouth Nh hey its the damn redhook brewery, take the tour for a buck, get lots of free beer, and get to keep your glass
3. Haddock Jacks. Wells Maine. Haddock is the man
