Logan and Duncan looked at each other before turning to look at the girl resting peacefully at the other side of Logan. It had become something of a tradition seeing as they were still in total disbelief. Sleepy serenity called them but they ignored it as they chose to bask in the afterglow instead. They knew that this wouldn't last forever. In fact looking at the clock the saw that one of their major obstacles was coming in what two minutes.
And Celeste Kane was never not punctual.
Logan brushed a stray hair from Veronica's face and bent down to kiss her. It was slightly out of place for them, he'd admit, but he wanted to treasure the few normal things that he could have.
The knock on the door broke the mood.
