New Years Resolution

I thought I wouldn't keep a journal anymore, because I only seem to want to write in one when I'm upset or angry. But lately I've been wanting to document things that make me happy! I feel like if I don't document important happy things in my life, I won't remember them as well, and it's really too bad that I haven't been doing this like I should have.I never really make New Years resolutions, but this year I made one that is a more realistic one to keep rather than the normal, eat healthy, be more independant, blah blah. I've decided I want to take more trips, have more experiences, explore more! Last December (2013) I went to my first concert, it was in Chicago and it was Panic at the Disco! It was amazing and I'm so happy I got to experience my first concert, let alone it being my favorite band and all! :D I went with John and Blake, John and I spent the night at Blake's house after the concert and went home the next morning. I got a bunch of pictures and a Panic! hoodie, which is my favorite piece of clothing to wear (I'm wearing it right now hehe)! I'm grateful my friends brought me even though they didn't even really know or like Panic!, which is the most amazing part, that I know for a fact they just did it for me. Although, when we went, they wouldn't push the crowd like I thought they were, and so I wasn't as close as I would have liked, but that means next time I have to try my hardest to push! Which reminds me, I requested off from work this year at the end of July to go to another concert of theirs at The Rave in Milwaukee, but right now I don't have anyone to go with. Phaedra isn't available, and I'm still trying to talk to my co-worker Jessica about going.May 17th 2014, I went to my first convention! Anime Central in Rosemont Illinois! It was fantastic!! Israel took me, and we met up with his friend Victor and we had a grand ol time. I dressed up as female Ash Ketchum, and mistakenly wore new flats which cut up the backs of my heals pretty bad, they were bleeding all day. But it was worth the pain. We left at about 2:30am, got there around 5am, stood around until the doors opened at 8am, and stayed there until around 11:30pm!! I had to try my hardest to keep Israel awake during the trip home because we both had about three hours of sleep before the convention. I initially wanted to go to bed at 7pm the night before to get my rest, but I was still packing and then remembered I should take some pictures off of my phone and upload them quick to Facebook in order to take more. Well, you live and learn haha. It was quite the mistake. But anywho, we made it there and back fine (enough) and I was up for a full 24 hours before going to bed again that night (early morning). I'm so happy we captured a lot of pictures with a lot of cosplayers, and I bought so many figures and other things there. Israel and I are trying to get off the full weekend of the 4th of July because there is going to be another anime convention in Rosemont, but a different one!! I so badly want to go, and I'm trying to convince Josh to go as well. Josh and I just discovered a wonderful band called Steam Powered Giraffe and they are going to perform the night of the 4th and 5th there, how convenient is that?! I so badly hope it works out!Oh yes, May 3rd, Phaedra, her boyfriend Matt, his son, and his cousin went to Chuck E. Cheese's in Green Bay and brought me! It was my idea, hahaha. I wanted to see if they had the robots that I remember from going to Milwaukee Chuck E. Cheese's as a kid. They had one of the newer stages with just one standing animatronic Chuck E., I believe that particular stage is called Circles or something like that, and it had a few TV's with a big screen as well. I was so excited about the robot, and we played so many games. It really was a great time, and I can't wait to go to other locations to see what stages they have and how up to date they are. Robots!!!Last year around Halloween, Phaedra and I went to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a Halloween party and just to be with Phaedra's friend Norell. It was such a great time, I really enjoyed the time there, and the bar Gay 90's! I so badly wanted to go this year for another event that Norell's having there, but Phaedra got declined her requested days off... unfortunately we won't be able to go this year. Which on the good side, I'll have more money for the anime convention if I'm able to go to that! My co-worker Pat invited Josh and I to Gen Con later in the year, but it's mainly table top games and we might not be as interested. It'd be nice to go, but it's farther away, and I'd rather save for something I'm more into going to.So, so far I think I'm doing good with my New Years resolution! I hope there's more opportunities to go to new places and continue to experience things I've never seen or done before! I'm certainly enjoying having these opportunities, and it also brings more of a sense of purpose which I'm enjoying very much.
