Slow sewing & thinking ahead.

Well, I don't think I will be finishing my loose gown sleeves before the weekend. I am being slow about things, wanting to do them right. I just finished hand sewing some trim to the armband, and that took the last two nights. I've got too much to do before Saturday, so I will just do what I can as I can, and maybe finish this in time for 12th Night or something. I otherwise don't have a big rush to finish the Elizabethan gown, since I don't do many Elizabethan events in the spring anymore. So, when it gets done is when it gets done. I can wear my old gown for this weekend.

I also need badly to get started on making my 1590s payre of bodies, so that I can get going on the rest of that project. On that, I think I am going to deliberately make it 4" too small, rather than my usual 2". Why? Because I need to lose a little more weight, which means loss of inches. I think I need to make sure the side seams can be taken in or let out later, if needed. Since it will be front lacing, that should be doable. I plan on making up the bodice to work on the embroidery, and hold off on the final side seams, etc. until closer to April.

Well, off to bed. Night all. Keep warm! (we are expecting a freeze tonight).
