Frozen Tomatoes

Jul 28, 2008 15:33

What do you do when the tomatoes in the fridge get soft? Freeze them, of course. Man, that went quick. A minute to blanch, then literally pop the tomatoes out of their skins, stick them in the blender, fill, put on machine, press the puree button, pour into bag, fill, mark bag with sharpie, stick into freezer, and finally clean up. All told about 30 minutes for a gallon bag. It should do nicely to add to premade spaghetti sauce, until we find a decent recipe on making that from scratch.

I guess I should pick up the living room, again. Kids have been busy this morning.
