Weekend relaxing

Yesterday we escaped the heat for the day, and made a trip to Pismo Beach to enjoy cooler breezes and cool ocean water. Very nice trip, although I think it was too short just doing a day trip of it. But Cam really enjoyed the ocean water, we all got a chance to relax, Maurelle enjoyed the giant sandbox (she disliked the water tides so we had to hold her while in the water), and we even got in some kite flying, too. We rented a van to carry everyone comfortably, and since we have it today (they are closed today), that's why I want a trip to Home Depot for bags of stuff I can't get in my regular car. I might even get a larger plant, like honeysuckle (I can grow that against my south fence.

Today has been a rather relaxed day of sleeping in, taking a nice cool shower, and otherwise taking it easy. I have been sewing a little bit, too.

So far in my sewing, I have the front of the gown trimmed and bound. That has been on my old dress form looking pretty. Today, I started flatlining the puffed (mahoitered) sleeves. I might do more work later tonight (or not).

Any more, I find that I am getting lax (or is it relaxed) about doing stuff. I have things I want to work on, and I work on them as the desire strikes. So I may do some calligraphy tonight instead of sewing, or the curtains, or something else entirely. Well... back to sewing for a bit.
