What do the merchant class wear?
Ok, a question that's running through my mind (thankfully, different from the last one).
What do you think of when you are thinking "merchant" class for a renaissance faire?
I am due to make a write up on Merchant class garb, as an adjunct for the CIRGA costume guideline. But I am stuck... what exactly makes up the "merchant" class, and what should they be wearing? What are they wearing now that is so very wrong?? You see, I've researched peasants, and I've researched nobles,... but merchants I've not done yet, so I am not sure what to recommend.

And this is the CIRGA costume guideline. It is a pdf file. I had no input into that guideline. I am just trying to make it more understandable, and more visual for faire folk... and if I can up the accuracy level, even better.
