Pretty wool, and weekend tales.

I did it, I ordered 4 yards of red Pendleton wool flannel from denverfabrics.com. It was $6.98 a yard! I would show you all what it looked like, but it is now sold out. They do have more wool on sale for the same price until midnight tonight, but not the red wool. They also have 30% off on velvets as well. I wanted some, but just to buy, not because I need more velvet. The wool I will need, for a winter petticoat to wear under my Tudors for winter events, like Yule and 12th Night (if I go to a 12th Night). I also will wear it under a Victorian outfit I still want to make for walking Christmas Tree Lane here in Fresno, but I don't know if I can do that this year, considering the other projects that are on the burner for this winter.

In other events of the weekend: I went to the FFG meeting Saturday morning. Man, I love going to those just to get more inspiration, and more ideas for tools. Who would have thought of using a wood burning tool to cut out fabric for applique? You don't need to sew the edges, at least not with silk fabrics (what the lady likes to use) and various man made fibers.

{I am having fun playing keep the baby away from the computer right now. I hope I don't lose this write up.}

Then did some shopping at Game Preserve and The Dragon's Treasure. At DT I found a set of two skeleton skulls candle holders that were nice, and nicely priced, along with other gift ideas. Got PB2 at GP for c0demonkey, and a set of dice for me. It's been years since I bought dice. Also did some other errands, including getting a few books at the library on illuminated manuscripts.

Then we gamed AD&D last night. The new dice rolled badly, so I am not sure if I will keep them. But I did manage to hit the zombie creatures a couple of times. The game was good, with some surprise twists involved. c0demonkey is GMing. I ended up pooping out before we ended the game. I am getting old.

Today was a Scriptorium for local Barony members at a home in Selma (Joe and Barbara). Nice lady, and man she really has a beautiful calligraphy hand and illumination style. She says she used to teach classes in our area, so I am hoping to learn from her how to draw for illumination. I am getting the painting down ok. I did another charter for a Legion of Courtesy, with yellow roses, like they should be. I didn't finish, but I got most of the roses painted. And sometime I really need to get my pens out and practice my calligraphy hand. But sewing does come first for me.

And we discussed country dancing. That discussion and the dream I had this morning made me think hard that I really would love to get back into dancing again. I know my knees at this point cannot take the stress, so I need to get them back into a condition that can handle that.

And that was my weekend in a nutshell. Now its time for dinner.
