Today
My sewing room is as clean as it will remain, for awhile. I was just starting to vacuum the last patch of carpet, when the vacuum cleaner started smoking burning rubber. The brushes no longer turn, and I can't get the thing apart enough to figure out why. Thankfully, my loving husband is willing to get a Dyson vacuum cleaner if I want one. I will have to research this and see if they really are worth the higher price. But in any case, the old one is dead, Jim.

Looking at the Dyson website. Lots of info, not enough info in some ways. Will have to sleep on it, but I can't wait too long. I have no working vacuum here, and the only one I have is at Mom's and I have no idea if it still works, or how well.
So, clean (sorta) room, and will get back to sewing again. I need to work on a shirt for a friend, but the dye project did not go well. Went for Scarlet red, and it looked great when wet with the double dye batch. But when it dried, it showed its true color as a nice deep pink. Seems the material is either partly polyester, although it burned as cotton with no plastic bead, or it is heavily coated to keep the perma-wrinkles. I am thinking the latter. So I will be heading to the fabric store to find a nice scarlet red fabric suitable for shirt making. It's too bad that the nice bright red fabric I do have here is too thick for a nice piratey shirt. More suitable for a skirt or jacket instead. Ah well.
Earlier today was Maurelle's 1 year physical. Her birthday was yesterday, although we celebrated it with family and close friend on Sunday. Ah, I am forgetting her stats, so I will post it later. She got her shots including the flu shot, which she was not happy about. Cam was also checked out by the doc, and he has sores in his throat which is why he was heaving a lot yesterday. He also had a fever, and also got a flu shot which made his leg sore. So meds for him for a few days to get rid of the sores, and hopefully he will return to eating again. He hasn't eaten in two days now, except for a few bites at lunch today, and the gummy worm the doc gave him. But he did return from the quiet boy he was yesterday, to a more active little boy that is his normal.
And I am tired, very tired. Time to get some sleep I think. Night all.
