Silk threads

Silk threads have been ordered from https://www.silkthings.com . I bought buttonhole twist, some black and natural fine sewing threads, some thicker threads for topstitching, and their sampler cards so I can see what other types they have, and what colors for future color matching. I hated buying the red threads blind, but I didn't want to order twice. I am looking forward to trying out the silk threads on my Tudor gown.

I have other silk threads that I've bought from eBay, but I kept hearing how wonderful these silk threads are, how fine, how they "disappear" on fabrics, etc. So, why not try them out and see if it is worth using silk threads even more. For some reason, cotton threads just don't look as good on silk fabrics when hand sewn. And the linen thread wasn't what I had hoped for, although it seemed to work ok once I got the hang of things (wax the thread a lot). Hopefully silk threads will be worthwhile for me.
