A note on linen...

If you try to do an even cut end of linen by the pull method, taking a snip along the selvedge, then pulling the fabric apart to to rip the fabric into two parts like you can easily do with cotton fabrics, it will stretch out the linen and the linen ends will not recover, not even with iron steaming or washing. The edges ripple even after washing and steaming. I learned this the hard way.

Next time, my linen will be cut even with a straight edge quilting ruler, a rotary cutter, and my trusty gridded mat.
