What I've been doing.

I've been busy with sewing, and working my Mom's place this morning, so I hadn't been online in nearly a week I think it was. Just caught up with my emails, and am about to head off for dinner.

Not much to report on the sewing front, as I've just been cutting fabric and ironing lots of linen. I do want to say I love, love, LOVE my new Rowenta iron with steam tank. I left it on for several hours, and it was ready to go when I needed it without losing steam, or shutting off, or any problems whatsoever. Now that rocks! In fact, after ironing nearly 10 yards of linen here and there, it still doesn't need a refill as it used less than half the tank full of water. Yep, love this new iron. I need to get a nice new broader ironing board to go with it, one with a mesh under top.

I do have to get the last bit of linen dyed orange for the gown portion, but that can be done this weekend. I have all the kirtle skirt pieces cut out... oh, wait, not the white lining linen, that still needs to be cut out as I finally decided that I will indeed use a lining, even tho there is a lot of fabric in the skirt already. I want it to hang and look right, even if it is under another garment. I will do that tonight, and get the pieces sewn together hopefully by this weekend. I also have to cut out the strips of red velvet for the hem guard as well so I can handsew that on tomorrow night, or maybe Saturday.

Well, off to get dinner going.
