Important Announcements -- PLEASE READ
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, voting for Round Three will be delayed until December 5th so that all authors can be contacted and be given time to accept their nominations. Sorry about that, but with over half our nominations coming in during the last two days of nominations, things were a bit overwhelming. Because of the late start, voting will run through the end of the month.
Also, we have come across a problem. I made a mistake when we added in the new rotating category. This round it is "Favourite DH-Compliant." The rotating category is supposed to stand alone, with its own rules. This is so that the spirit of the award is maintained. For example, if it were "Favourite MLC Fic," we would have no time frame so that all MLC fics could be considered. Following me so far?
Okay. So for this round, I forgot to add the rules for DH-Compliant Fic to our profile. It ought to be exempt from the "story can only be in two categories" rule so that ALL DH-compliant fics can be considered. After all, it's FAVOURITE.
So now we have a conundrum. If we run it with our current rules, instead of the way we had intended it to run, you won't really be voting on your Favourite DH-compliant fics --- because every single finalist already has two nominations.
However, since I didn't post the specific rules for this category, I don't want to just say, "hey, oops!" and continue on with the category as it was intended to run without you all having some say. It was a terrible oversight on my part--I merely forgot to make the change official--and I apologize.
In any event, we now have to decide what to do. I have always maintained that these awards are OURS as a community, not mine, so I'm opening up a poll to allow you all to decide what we do with this category in this round. I'd also like you to know that I pulled my own fic that was nominated in this category so that there will be no conflict of interest on my part.
So, please choose one of the following options, and as always, feel free to comment, ask questions, or poke fun at me for being a dork.
