Due to some unforeseen circumstances, voting for Round Three will be delayed until December 5th so that all authors can be contacted and be given time to accept their nominations. Sorry about that, but with over half our nominations coming in during the last two days of nominations, things were a bit overwhelming. Because of the late start, voting ( Read more... )

Don't confuse the confused. LOL.

But I would have had a candidate, because of the date rule I didn't.

I found it very hard to focus on this round. Not your fault! Just too much going on for my own good.

These awards are a kind of election, and one of the fundamentals of a fair electoral process are clearly defined rules that are known from the start and stay consistent. By tallying the results for this category under different rules of inclusion from the others, and in a way that you did not state in the posted rules publicly at the start, even as you post the results, there will be a ghost over it--the ghost of the placers that would otherwise be running ( ... )

I should add, that regardless of what you decide, your fic should be included. After all, to not do so disenfranchises those who voted for you. Even if it's your screw up, this shouldn't be the "punishment"

I must admit that the rules for some strange reason make my head, normally quite competent in understanding bizarre things like the human body, spin. What I would love to see in future is a list of fics to nominate for each category. Thank heavens for Harmonybites lists for this latest round. Obviously some fics would be missed, but last time around I nominated several fics that didn't fit the rules.

It's really not as complicated as it sounds ... I think. LOL

An author can only have one story in a category.
A story can only be a finalist in two categories.

Pretty easy. I just goofed up by not saying that the rotating category is different. *headdesk*

To me, it is as complicated as learning to drive by reading a manual. Until I don't try it myself, I'll not be able to understand, no matter how many times I've read the rules :D
Anyway, I'm sure I've given you plenty of extra work with my messy list already, so I vote to keep things as intended.
I also think that your story is not guilty for your goofing up (must remember this one!)
